Scraping Cars: Frequently Asked Questions
- Do you take scrap cars?
Yes, SSIM has state license to scrap used vehicles and operates under its regulations. - How much do you pay for scrap cars?
We pay for scrapped car according to its actual weight. We do not consider circumstances such as car model, market value or operating conditions to make any difference in final valuation. - Do I need any paperwork for my car?
Generally, we require vehicle’s title for cars less than ten years old, for others we can accept registration document as an equivalent. In both cases you will be asked to present Driver’s License with matching name on it. Dealer’s, who scrap cars, can present their Dealer’s License instead. - How to prepare car for scraping?
Fuel tanks MUST be removed from the vehicle before being scrapped in our yard, no exceptions. All fluids also need to be drained. If car has tires and windshields we will deduct some weight for it. - Do you sell car parts?
Unfortunately we don't. Scrapped cars, after removing hazardous elements, are crushed immediately, thus, no parts can be recovered. - Do you pick up cars?
No, we do not provide pick up services. We suggest to contact towing company to inquire about such possibility.
